USPA General Meeting

M I N U T E S

 

I.                    Call to Order: USPA President Deborah Perkins-Boyd called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m.

 

II.                 Approval of Minutes: The minutes were approved as posted by general consent.

 

III.               Executive Board Reports

A.     Vice President (Valley Voice): Betsy Stueber reported the next Valley Voice will go out on Monday, October 15. New information is always welcome and should be submitted to one of the editors.

B.     Treasurer: Cyndi Hatch reported income has started to come in from the Prep Shop. Up until now the only income has been from the Blue Blazer Sale. She also requested people submit expenses in a timely manner.

C.     Jr./Sr. After-Prom: Marianne Crosley reported that Prom will be May 3 at the House of Blues. After-Prom will be held at the school. All parents are welcome to get involved in helping with this event. Kathleen Visconsi reminded people about the Lottery Ticket Sale; tickets are on sale through November. Meg Norchi reported volunteers, especially dads, are needed for the Tree and Wreath Sale December 1, 8, and 9. A new feature this year will be tree delivery. Mothers are also encouraged to attend Ladies’ Night Out next Thursday, October 18. Attendees should bring gift cards suitable for teenagers which will be given at After-Prom. Cash and other gifts are also acceptable. Of note is that people can register at Giant Eagle to earn points for prizes to be given to US for After-Prom.

D.     Prep Shop: No report.

E.      9th Grade Point Parent: Lisa Wiant reported for Ramona Matoh the 9th Grade Parent Party will be held October 26 at The Cleveland Racquet Club. She also announced cider and donuts will be provided for 9th grade boys on Halloween.

F.      10th Grade Point Parent: Rose Grisko reported the 10th grade Parent Party drew 65 parents before Curriculum Night. The Tuesday before Halloween cider and donuts will be provided for the boys.

G.     11th Grade Point Parent: Deborah Perkins-Boyd reported for Ann Whitney the Parent Party will be Saturday, October 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Murphys.

H.     Grade 12th Point Parent: Cathie Martin reported the 12th grade Parent Party was nice. A chipotle lunch was also provided for 12th grade boys recently.

 

IV.              Committee Reports

A.     International Dinner: Toni Pollock reported the Dinner will be held November 9 at 6:15 p.m. A flyer will be sent to all families via the Valley Voice. The cost will be $10 per person. The main dish will be provided from Trifles Café; parents should also bring a dish to share.

B.     School Gift (ad hoc committee): Terry Stoller reported ideas are still being accepted, as are committee volunteers, and should be emailed to Terry at terrystoller@sbcglobal.net.

V.                 New Business

A.     US Sports Photos by David Turben: Betsy Stueber reported photos of US athletes are posted on www.shutterfly.com/pro/pbt/us. Proceeds from photo sales will go to support USPA activities.

VII.            Adjournment: Rose Grisko motioned to adjourn. Louise Jantzen seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 10:21 a.m.
